Breadcrumbs (Part 3)

As she sat and pondered while awaiting her doctor, she realized that three weeks had passed by quickly but slowly. The weeks had been a mixture of nausea, diarrhea, muscle aches and pain, tiredness, constipation, nasal stuffiness, and a sprig of energy. She had decided since the hair would begin to fall soon, why not try a new style that would not only suite her well but generate compliments from her favorite people within her household. She did and oh my it was a decision that worked out well.

Today she gets another round of that awful medicine that will not only kill that dreaded disease but to help cure her once and for all. She had over the past weeks gotten accustomed to those pesky side effects that can keep a cancer patient down for days and sometimes weeks. Her favorite nursery rhyme remix kept playing in her head over and over again. One, two buckle your shoes. Three, four shut the door. Five, six pick-up sticks. Seven, eight lay them straight. Nine, ten the nurse is about to begin. Her travel to hell and back is about to play again.
