Round Three

Hooray was the cry many of them made when they learnt that "the dreaded one" had gone. Yes, she made it through that horrible ordeal. From shock to hope to victory. A reclaiming and rebuilding of a life that is necessary to all who loved her and vice versa. Round one was a small but defeatable obstacle, and round two was a lesson that was humbling. All the emotions that had assaulted her the first time went rushing to strike in the second round. The anger, guilt, anxiety, hopelessness, fear and of course the famous depression. She and her gang of warriors faced every bit of that dreaded disease. Days overlapped nights, while nights turned into days. Conquer they did yes indeed, and that good ole victory never felt so sweet.

Now here she goes again feeling the pain of that familiar punch that was felt in the first two rounds. The words stung so hard but her tears were frozen. She told herself that "she was strong" even as her world was being dissolved. At that point, she was trying to navigate through that rough emotional sea where common sense was trying to flee. As she sits and begin to really think of all that was said, her mind drifted to hope, fear and guilt. Hope being the most dangerous of them three, because as you see, one of the medicines as the doctor laid out was the only other option left to be explored. So, here she goes once again to hope that there will be no loss of dreams and expectations, but a story of success and resilience. Gather your thoughts, take a seat, relax and breathe, and have a sip of water because round three is about to be a tsunami 🥊.
