Celebrations are normally associated with "congratulations" or "you did it" and a reward or treat is presented at the end as a show of gratitude. However one chooses to celebrate an accomplishment it always ends with laughter, smiles, hugs, handshakes, and several pats on the back. The individual walks away feeling accomplished with a sense of newly found respect. "They have arrived". It was a celebration of THEM overcoming the dark process. The parts when they find themselves not measuring up. The hardships and constant intimidation from all the distractions that many times made throwing in the towel to signal defeat seemed enticing. Their persistence would not make them become discouraged or dismayed. They believed that there is courage, dignity, and strength even through painful circumstances. The celebration of YOU starts at the beginning of the process, not the end. Remember who YOU are, a mixture of part complication, a quart of the unknown, and a dash of persistence covered with sprinkles.

I celebrate every day. From getting out of bed to brushing my teeth. There was a time when these two tasks that are considered simple were so hard to do. Just as we celebrate the end, we have to plant roses for those gray areas that are testy and pesky.
